let me share some interesting news that will show that i can be a financial analyst/fortune teller.

1.
in 2006 dec, while writing a report from the perspective of SingTel, on how to increase profitability, i suggested a Children's plan in which parents get to call and sms their children at discounted rates.
in 2008 april, RedPac, was launched by SingTel. exactly the same!

2.
in march 2008, i advised my father to invest in gold. he say no, time to sell. i say time to buy!
in april 2008, an article was published in TODAY, "now's best time to invest in gold, says experts".

3. (new advice, applying what i learn in h3)

The decision whether to hoard rice!
Assume only 2 players - you and rest of Singapore.
Both have the dominant strategy to hoard rice.
Yet when both follow this dominant strategy, they end up with worse payoffs.
This is a prisoner's dilemma.
However, it is impossible to sustain cooperation amongst all Singaporeans because promises/threats made are not credible and cannot be checked.
Thus, it yields worst payoffs for you to not hoard, since other people will.
Therefore, everyone should just hoard rice! (:

This set of payoffs can be shown in the table below.

Hoard Rice

Do not hoard rice

Hoard Rice

A, A

D, C

Do not hoard rice

C, D

B, B

Here, D>B>A>C!
so, it really is a prisoner's dilemma.
and when both do not hoard, they recieve B, which is more than A.
but because people dnt want to not hoard (C) when others hoard (D), they hoard!
SO EVERYONE, JUST HOARD RICE! (: or you will result in the lowest payoff of C.

hahahaha! my post is so interesting. im amused. bet nobody even sees this.

struggling; but failing. and, its gone.
